Okay, so this one was pretty fun. I hadn’t done this trick in a while and I decided for this assignment I’d use my buddy Gunther again.
Before I started I went to YouTube and brushed up on my skills with this video.
Afterwards, my dog, my lady, and I headed out to try our luck. Unfortunately, Gunther has about the same attention span as I do. While the first attempt was unsuccessful, it did turn out rather funny.
I followed the same steps as in the YouTube video. It’s pretty easy if you have a subject who will sit still long enough (not Gunther).
Step 1
Select the panorama (pano) option in your phone’s camera app. With the subject in focus, slowly move from left to right, keeping the arrow pointing along the line on the screen.
Step 2
Once the subject is completely out of view on the left, hold the camera still. I needed a second person to reposition Gunther while I operated the camera. My lady guided Gunther from my left side to right side of the camera by walking behind and around me, all while staying out of the camera view. Once he was sitting, I started moving the camera from left to right again until I captured him in the frame.
Finally, we were able to get him to sit still long enough to get a decent finished product.
