For this audio project, I wanted to create something to raise the hairs on the back of our necks. I remember a few times when I’ve been out in a forest and I’ve come to a quick realization that I am not the apex predator in this environment.
Hopefully, this clip will embody the feeling of being in the wilderness alone, yet not alone, and maybe being hunted.
For this assignment, I located sound clips from Freesound.org and imported them into Soundtrap. I adjusted the length of the clips and arranged them on the timeline the same way as in my Cruising Around the Campground post. Again, I highly recommend watching a few tutorials to learn how to use Soundtrap, like the one I linked in my Campground post. When I was satisfied with the final product, I saved my project and exported it as an MP3 file.
David, this audio project was spooky indeed! I was really picturing being in the wilderness alone… I got chills. I used Soundtrap for a digital studies class previously and it was really user-friendly. I completely forgot about it until now, so thanks for including the tutorial!
